INTEGRATING CONSERVATION AND SOCIAL IMPACT

To generate significant and mutually reinforcing benefits.

When people thrive, forests thrive.

EMPOWERING COMMUNITIES TO PROTECT THE FORESTS

We believe that conserving forests requires a deep focus on the people who live in them. Keeping the forest standing also means ensuring quality of life, valuing local culture, and creating opportunities for sustainable income generation.

Amazon sustainable development starts with community integration – know some of our initiatives that strengthen the Amazon’s social and economic growth, promote quality of life, and advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Enhancement of Family Income

Sustainable Farming

Upon the arrival of the Tauari Project, Mr. João – a resident of the community – recognized the negative impacts of the slash-and-burn practices he previously engaged in, and started producing without causing destruction. He diversified his production and was able to increase his income more sustainably.

Supporting Local Culture

Committed to preserving the rich history of rubber tappers in an innovative way, the Tauari Project created a new ecological trail guiding visitors to the legacy of the rubber economy. At the heart of the trail, a small replica of a traditional rubber trapper’s home transport visitors back in time.

Therefore, through the Tauari Project, a Starlink antenna was installed to bring connectivity to schools in the region.

Environmental Awareness

Environmental awareness activities were carried out in schools across the Tauari Project region to encourage children to connect with nature, celebrate the importance of understanding local biodiversity, and highlight the efforts needed to protect the ecosystem.
